Enteric capsules are coated with a special enteric coating layer that does not dissolve in acidic environments (gastric fluid, pH<5.5) but dissolves quickly in weakly alkaline environments (intestinal fluid, pH>5.5), achieving targeted drug release in the intestine.
Suitable for enteric capsules include: acid-sensitive drugs (such as probiotics, certain enzymes), drugs irritating to gastric mucosa (such as NSAIDs), drugs requiring release at specific intestinal locations.
Enteric capsules do not disintegrate in artificial gastric fluid for 2 hours and completely disintegrate within 45 minutes in artificial intestinal fluid, complying with Chinese and international pharmacopoeia standards.
Recommended storage at temperature 15-25°C, humidity 35-65% RH, avoid high temperature and humidity to prevent damage to the enteric coating layer. Shelf life is 3 years.
